Wheelchair users & visitors with reduced mobility:
The market is largely accessible. A few benches are available. Please report to the Tourist Information Office (by the gate); if space is available, you may sit down with a maximum of one companion. Please note: this seating area is sometimes full, partly due to school groups. The adjacent Tourist Information Office and the Cheese Museum are also wheelchair accessible and have recently been assessed for accessibility.
Visitors with visual impairments or who are blind:
There is a public address system that announces what is happening in several languages. There is no specific audio description service available.
Visitors with hearing impairments:
People with hearing aids equipped with a telecoil can listen via setting T.
Visitors sensitive to stimuli:
The market is busy and stimulating. There are no special facilities or quiet zones available.
Public toilets:
There is a public toilet at the ‘De Afstap’ cycle park. There is also a public toilet at Hema with facilities for changing babies.
Disabled parking in the city:
With a European disabled parking card, you may park in all spaces in the city, except for those specifically reserved for vehicles with a particular registration number. You may park for a maximum of 3 hours in designated disabled parking spaces. Please ensure you use a parking disc. In parking spaces with a maximum parking duration, the maximum duration indicated on the signs applies. There is no maximum parking duration in all other parking spaces. Parking with a disabled parking permit is free of charge.
